About Highway Mission
Who is Highway Mission?
Highway Mission is an independent, evangelical Bible mission oriented on ministering to motorcyclists. Highway Mission was founded as non-profit corporation in the State of Missouri in 2005, and is governed by a Board of Directors.
What is the Mission’s Purpose?
The Mission’s purpose is to serve the local church by mobilizing, equipping and coordinating missionaries to evangelize, minister to and integrate bikers into local churches.
Why is a Mission to Motorcyclists Necessary?
The motorcycling community began establishing a separate culture within the United States (later spreading to other parts of the world) very early in the 20th Century. Following World War II, values, attitudes, and a greater degree of separation from mainstream society accelerated so that portions of the motorcycling community became highly isolated and resistant to outside intrusion. Consequently, ministry within this culture requires dedicated people, called of God, to work within this “people group” that exists within the midst of mainstream, post-modern society.
